Route 8 Butler Street Gas Line Relocation Work Has Begun

PennDOT District 11 is announcing utility relocation work on Butler Street (Route 8) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, has begun.

Single lane alternating traffic will occur Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Butler Street between One Wild Place and Baker Street as crews from Lineal Industries relocate a gas line. Relocation work will continue through November 3.

Flaggers will guide motorists.  Pittsburgh Police will be utilized to control traffic through the work zone.

This work is part of the Route 8 Heths Run bridge replacement project.  The existing bridge built in 1913-14 will be replaced with a new structure.  Additionally, the project includes reconstruction of 870 feet of Butler Street, improvements on One Wild Place, drainage, and sidewalk and signal upgrades.
