Morningside Wildcats Girls Softball Fundraising

Morningside Wildcats Girls Softball will be having a Car Wash Fundraiser at the Jiffy Lube in Aspinwall on Saturday, May 19th from 8a.m. to 2p.m. Please come support the girls as they make their way to the Playoffs in June. The Wildcats will also be participating in the Morningside Yard Sale on June 2nd and are collecting items to sell for donations to the team. They will have hotdogs and drinks for sale during the yard sale and all proceeds benefit the team.

Additionally, the Wildcats are having a raffle and are selling tickets at $5.00 per ticket. Being raffled off is a 37″Magnavox LCD HDTV. MACC Ride Sharing Transportation Survey

In response to concerns within Morningside about the loss of weekend transit service, the Morningside Area Community Council (MACC) is trying to understand what the real needs are for neighbors who do not have access to weekend transportation. Through this survey, we hope to know what types of trips are taken and needed, where people are going, and whether they would support a service – for a small fee – that connects them to transit in Highland Park or at the Busway. Please note that MACC is not currently undertaking any ride sharing program, but is trying to gauge the demand for such a program if it did decide to start one.

Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey, and also, please share it with your neighbors. It will better help MACC determine what kind of a ride sharing solution, if any, can be found. Also, we have paper copies if you would like to share those with others or would prefer one yourself. Please contact us for paper copies. Thanking you in advance for your time.

This year, on May 22nd, St. Raphael School will hold its first Walk-A-Thon called “Race for the Raiders.” During this event, students and teachers will be walking through the neighborhood to raise money and show school spirit. The event will begin around 10:30am. It would be great if Morningside residents cheered them on as they walk!
